Add optional tabs for iOS 11

Swiping gestures in iOS 11 Safari are problematic for C3. Swiping from the edge sometimes switches to another tabbed website page instead of opening a panel. And when a panel is open, like the color palette of the animation editor, swiping from the edge changes the current panel’s settings instead of switching to a different panel.

    Admin Response

This is why we have a prompt recommending to add to home screen on iOS. When you run from the home screen, it lets you use the side-swipe gestures without trying to do Safari's back/forward navigation.

Thank you for your response. In iOS 11 on the iPad Pro, running C3 from the home screen doesn’t change Safari’s back/forward navigation. It open’s C3 just like it would if you navigated to it In the browser. Browser tabs and search bar are still present. Swiping from the left and right still switches pages. If you want, I can attach a video, because I’m not sure I’m doing a good job discribing it.

I attached a video just in case. Opening C3 from the home screen creates a new tab in Safari. The long pauses are me trying to swipe from the right edge of the screen. That just might be my cold finger tip not registering. Toward the end of the video, it shows what I was trying to explain about the panels interfering with the swiping gestures. There’s a sweet spot for switching panels, but it’s hard to find.
