Advanced Text Features

Handling text in the past has been a bit complex if not impossible. For example selecting a specific word in a text object and applying different styles (italic, different colours) or being more interactive (touch specific words in the same text object to trigger different events). Other game engines have already added features like that, it would be great if we could see something similar with C3 in the future.

We'd like to introduce features to make rich text/alternate styling possible in both the Text and SpriteFont objects. However this is something we will look in to once the new C3 runtime is in place.

I'm also interested in that. Concerning letter-by-letter editing (size, color, style...), Ashley said it won't make the initial release, but the feature is considered for the future. But we do have an easier way to specify character widths now, which is great.

Oh yeah. Being able to control per character angle, X and Y offset, and Color would be great.

I actually prefer pre-animated image animations over the current spritefont methods...
    so yes, take my vote(s).

    Definitely on my wishlist.

I've tried to create something similar to skymen's example in the past using sprites to render out individual characters. It was very unintuitive and I'd love a Spritefont and Text object that allowed offsetting, scaling etc characters on an individual basis.

I +1 this and add that some of these features would be very useful for the sprite font as well (if it's even possible)
